The Word Made Flesh

The Word Made Flesh

When Jesus’ disciple and friend John decided to be a writer for God, he started his account this way:

“In the beginning was the Word…”

He went on to show that he was talking about his dear friend and Savior, Jesus. He said in John 1:14, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us!”

For this Christmas newsletter I wanted to encourage you with that. Words are so powerful that Christ Himself is “the Word.” It was by generating words that He created the world. He spoke and things came to pass. “Let there be…”

I pray for you today, “let there be” your words of truth. Even though it’s Christmas, for those of you who write, do a little writing today in between opening presents, loving on your family, and eating the feast before you.

I also know that maybe some of you won’t be doing any of that for one reason or another. Maybe you are alone this year. As hard as that can be, I pray that you will pour out your heart on paper, or screen and you’ll find comfort in being able to express your heart and hopefully God’s heart too.

I am so grateful for every pair of eyeballs who sees this today and especially for the person behind those eyeballs. It’s Christmas, not Thanksgiving, but I feel thankful and hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas.
